Job Title: Senior Azure Network Engineer – Secure Cloud Gateway Uplift
Help deliver a next-generation secure cloud gateway as a Senior Azure Network Engineer within a major Defence digital transformation program. You’ll lead the design and operation of complex Azure networking, uplift and refine an existing secure edge gateway MVP, and ensure robust, scalable connectivity between on-premises environments, Azure and external services.

Contract Details
- Contract Duration: 6 months with extensions
- Security Clearance Requirement: NV1 required
- Closing Date: 10:00am, Friday 19 September 2025
- Lead the design, implementation and management of secure, cost-effective Azure network solutions connecting on-premises and cloud environments in line with strict governance and security controls.
- Develop and refine design and delivery documentation (e.g. SED/SCD), operational standards, policies and procedures for Azure network solutions.
- Configure and manage Azure network components including WAF, NSG/ASG, Azure vWAN, Azure Firewall and load balancers to support a distributed secure edge gateway.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical network issues while clearly communicating risks, impacts and resolutions to stakeholders and project teams.
- Extensive experience as a Senior Network Engineer delivering Azure networking solutions in large or secure environments, including hybrid connectivity between on-premises and Azure.
- Proven expertise with Azure network services such as WAF, NSG/ASG, Azure vWAN, Azure Firewall and load balancers.
- Strong background producing high-quality design documentation, network standards and operational procedures, and providing technical leadership in cloud networking.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform or CloudFormation) to automate Azure network deployments and configurations.
