Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer – Secure Collaboration & Compliance (M365/Entra/Purview) Join a major, security-focused program delivering a sovereign Microsoft 365 collaboration environment that enables scalable engagement across internal users, partners, and industry. You’ll lead configuration and integration of core M365 services, embed governance and compliance-by-design (including Microsoft Purview), and help deliver an MVP that scales to full operational capability in a multi-cloud ecosystem.

Location: Canberra, ACT

• Contract Duration: 6 months + extension options
• Security Clearance Requirement: Australian Citizenship required (security clearance environment)
• Closing Date: TBC – applications assessed as received

Essential Tasks

• Lead deployment and configuration of Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive
• Implement governance and compliance controls, including Microsoft Purview (labels/DLP/retention)
• Integrate Microsoft 365 with external organisations using federated identity and B2B trust models
• Drive troubleshooting, performance tuning, and standardised configuration patterns (automation/IaC)

Key Criteria

• Senior engineering experience across Microsoft 365 core workloads (Teams/SharePoint/Exchange/OneDrive)
• Strong identity and access capability (Entra ID, Conditional Access, B2B collaboration/federation)
• Microsoft Purview capability (information protection, DLP, retention/audit/eDiscovery exposure)
• Automation/IaC mindset (scripting, CI/CD pipelines, repeatable deployment patterns)
