Machine Learning Engineer | AWS, DevOps & MLOps
Work on cloud infrastructure and engineering platforms supporting AI, machine learning and data science solutions within a major Australian Government environment. Use AWS, Terraform, CI/CD and Kubernetes to deploy secure, scalable platforms supporting generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and production-ready applications.
Location : QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – subject to negotiation with the line manager and applicable workplace policy.
Contract Duration: 12 months, with a possible 12-month extension. Commencing 14 December 2026.
Security Clearance Requirement: Current NV1 clearance.

Essential Tasks
- Design, build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating application builds, testing, security scanning and deployments.
- Deploy and support containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Amazon EKS, ensuring platform reliability and performance.
- Support MLOps and LLMOps capabilities, including AI model deployment, monitoring, generative AI and RAG solutions.
- Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, supporting and troubleshooting AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
- Strong experience developing CI/CD pipelines and implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration, preferably Amazon EKS.
- Experience implementing cloud monitoring, logging and observability solutions. Exposure to MLOps, LLMOps or Amazon Bedrock is desirable.
