Be the go-to Network Engineering expert in a critical national security environment, owning the design, implementation and optimisation of complex network services that support Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. You’ll lead planning, solve very complex technical issues, mentor others and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable and high-performing networks.

Contract Details

• Contract Duration: Initial 12-month engagement, with potential extensions (subject to client approval)
• Security Clearance Requirement: Current TSPV security clearance required
• Closing Date: To be confirmed – early applications strongly encouraged
• Citizenship: Australian citizenship required

Essential Tasks

• Lead network planning and architecture for complex, secure environments, ensuring services meet agreed SLAs.
• Design, implement and document LAN/WAN solutions, including connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security and access.
• Analyse and resolve very complex network issues, applying strong change management to maintain continuity of operations.
• Build and sustain productive relationships with stakeholders, mentoring and guiding less experienced technical staff.

Key Criteria

• Several years’ experience in a Network Engineer (or similar) role within large, complex environments.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals (protocols, architectures, devices, topologies, standards and security).
• Demonstrated experience producing high-quality network design documentation and configuration artefacts.
• Proven leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including technical team mentoring.
